Heroes in Disguise fundraiser for the Hero Initiative
Tonight was the Geek Girl on the Street/Challengers Comics + Conversation fundraiser for the Hero Initiative. We raised a decent amount of money for HI considering our event was a week before SDCC and THE SAME WEEKEND AS PITCHFORK (d’oh!)
I will post a full wrap-up on GGotS, but I wanted to say thank you to Patrick and Dal at Challengers, Harrison at Tipton Spirits, Paul Storrie, Jeffery Brown, Thom Zahler, Meg White, Thatcher Cleveland, Kylee Lane, Robert Kirkman, Josh Emmons, Mike Norton, Jim Demonakos, Kyle Stevens, Tony Maldonado, Lauren Burke, Greg Sorkin, Elliott Serrano, Lance Curran from Threadless, Johnny Todd/Colleen Curtis/Jeremy Stoppleman from Yelp, Shane Peterman from ThinkGeek, Maria Diaz from EdenFantasys and EVERYONE (Nicholas, Susan, Gordon, Justin, Mike, Jenni, Sara, John, Lynne, Lauren… I could go on!) who came out, had fun, donated money and generally validated the Chicago geek community as being one of the most awesome in the world…
There are a few schwag bags left which I’m going to offer to people online who want to donate $20 to the Hero Initiative, check GGotS for more deets on this sometime next week…
